Differential characteristics of the transfer case inter-axle differential:
 
When the truck turns, the length of the arc traveled by each wheel is different, which means that the rotational speed of each wheel is also different. 

The arc length pressed by the front wheel is longer than the arc length pressed by the rear wheel, that is, the speed of the front wheel is higher than that of the rear wheel. 

The front and rear output shafts of a transfer case without an inter-axle differential are rigidly connected and have the same speed. 

The same speed of the front and rear wheels will cause steering interference between the front and rear wheels when turning. 

A braking force will be generated, which is commonly referred to as "steering braking", causing serious wear and tear between the tires and the ground. 

Installing an inter-axle differential in the truck transfer case can effectively solve this problem.


The inter-axle differential of the transfer case uses the planetary differential principle to adjust the speed difference between the front and rear wheels, 

so that the speed difference between the front and rear output shafts can be adjusted accordingly by changing the rotation speed of the planetary gears, 

so that the front and rear outputs The shaft rotates at different speeds to coordinate the movement of each wheel
